Contract Delay For Key 29 y/o Leeds Player Explained By Journalist

|

A number of Leeds United fans were delighted when midfielder Mats Klich indicated that the ink may soon be dry on a new contract extension for him at the club.

His original words came back in early September but since then, there has seemingly been no progress on the deal and a good few fans were wondering what was going on, especially with some spurious reports suggesting that the 29-year-old would stall on signing a new deal to assess his options.

Leeds Live journalist, Beren Cross, was hosting a recent Q&A session with the fans and the topic came up, and he revealed that the deal was ‘done’ and we were just waiting for it to get signed off, but we were still waiting for his agent to arrive from Poland so the paperwork could be finalised.

Quite what the delay is there is beyond me, but if everything is agreed in principle I’m guessing neither side see much of a reason to rush here.
